THE NARRATIVE POEM OF THE PIPED PIPER OF HAMELIN
I heard the music, sweet, soft music.
It rattled though my brain.
Before I knew what I was doing I was out on the streets
Skipping, clapping, singing and dancing.
There were billons of children behind me
Some I knew and some I didn’t
But we were all singing and dancing.
I followed a man with a flute;
He was the one behind the genius of music.
We followed the man with the flute out of town,
Still singing and dancing
Where we were going I didn’t know,
But all that mattered was the music,
That sweet, elegant music.
My happiness was enwrapped by the sound of clattering and pattering feet on the walk way.
I wondered how far we had gone
But all that mattered was that music
That sweet, elegant music.
